Description/Updates/Pictures:
Update October 2026:
07.10: Themis is currently on medication and has not had a seizure for over a week! He is getting better, and we are very happy with his progress. We will soon change his medication to one that he will need to take for the rest of his life, but both the vet and we are very happy with how well he is doing already.
03.10: Themis was a healthy, happy-go-lucky pup whose owners flew in to volunteer with us and then fly home with him to Denmark. A week into their stay, Themis began to have epileptic seizures which he has never had before.
Themis’ trip/adoption is cancelled, Themis is monitored around the clock by the team via camera. We are still trying to manage his condition, ruling out different diseases with the help of our vet.
And we have sleepless nights and sad days.
We hope Themis’ story will have a happy ending.
This is him as I write (see photo below)…he has not had a seizure in three days. He is in isolation in one of our containers with peace and quiet and he is getting all his naps in!

Update September 2026:

Update July 2026:
Shepherd lovers, meet our baby boy Themis! He’s a funny little character who always wants to please his people. He quickly learned the command “sit” and will patiently wait beside you for his food, attention, or just some love.
