Souda Shelter is run by a very small team. Our first priority is always the dogs already in our care, so please do not expect an immediate reply. It may take us several days to respond.

Please use this contact form or our published email address to contact Souda Shelter.

Please do not contact individual members of the shelter team privately.

We kindly ask you not to contact us simply to ask us to go and check on an animal. We do not have the staff or resources to provide this service.

We are also unable to take in healthy animals simply because they need somewhere to go. Our shelter is already caring for many dogs and our space and resources are very limited.

If you find an injured or sick animal, please do not wait for a response from us. If possible, take the animal to a local veterinarian or arrange veterinary help yourself. You may contact us for advice, but please understand that our response may be delayed.

For questions about adoption, volunteering, donations, dogs already in our care, or other matters concerning Souda Shelter, you are very welcome to use the form below. Thank you for your patience and for helping us keep our time and attention where it is needed most — with the animals.

The dogs have plenty of space. Employees are very involved with the animals. Very positive experience. Would like to bring a dog.

We adopted a dog when we visited Crete this year. The shelter is clean and the dogs have enough space. It's a non profit rescue organisation so they're thankful for every donation (money, dogfood, paying vet bills/medication...) or helping hands. The employees/volunteers love the dogs and take care very well. They do everything for them. Amazing and heartmelting work - everyday. They also helped us with all the documents, check-ups, vaccinations, organising the flight back home etc. Would always recommend this shelter if you want to adopt a dog.

Friendly helpful staff and so many lovely dogs looking for new homes. We were greeted by some of the curious, calm girls of various ages out in the huge central yard getting their exercise. My kids were happily petting them and getting their toes kicked. Lots of opportunies for volunteering if you can't adopt a dog.

This shelter will always have a special place in my heart. We adopted our dog Moon from there in 2020, and he has been the greatest gift in our lives. Most loving dog on earth. He came to Germany from the shelter, and liz was super communicative, answering all of our questions up until the day we picked him up at the airport. Thank you to everyone at this shelter for all of your hard work. We will absolutely adopt another dog from here ❤️ 💙

My wife and I visited the shelter since we own a stray dog from Crete. The people there are doing a wonderful job with very limited ressources. The shelter is in a good stage and we were glad they showed and explained us their work. We were positively surprised how good the dogs look. This is the result of to the great work and all the donations. Thank you!
