Heidi (adopted)

Update May 2026: Look at our Heidi! Enjoying life, in her new home in Germany.

She’s one of the cats who lives outside around our shelter and has been with us for quiet some time now. She’s neutered, around 6 years old and we recently took her in because she had problems with her teeth. In two surgeries they removed all of her teeth’s because they were inflamed.

Since May, she lives inside and enjoys human attention. She would deserve to get cuddles all day long but we’re not able to give her what she truly deserves. A real home

She’s a quiet, sensitive cat who’s extremely friendly and mastered all the vet visits perfectly. While her FeLV test came back negative, she was tested positive for FiV. She currently gets treated because of inflamed areas on her gums but we already made a huge progress. Apart from that she’s a loving and social cat, she was always seen with her best friends Jekyll and Utterson. Utterson sadly passed away last month

Jekyll is also looking for a loving home and they could get adopted together. Open your heart and your home for these beauties!

The dogs have plenty of space. Employees are very involved with the animals. Very positive experience. Would like to bring a dog.

We adopted a dog when we visited Crete this year. The shelter is clean and the dogs have enough space. It's a non profit rescue organisation so they're thankful for every donation (money, dogfood, paying vet bills/medication...) or helping hands. The employees/volunteers love the dogs and take care very well. They do everything for them. Amazing and heartmelting work - everyday. They also helped us with all the documents, check-ups, vaccinations, organising the flight back home etc. Would always recommend this shelter if you want to adopt a dog.

Disappointed, we applied for help for an animal and were just ignored.

Friendly helpful staff and so many lovely dogs looking for new homes. We were greeted by some of the curious, calm girls of various ages out in the huge central yard getting their exercise. My kids were happily petting them and getting their toes kicked. Lots of opportunies for volunteering if you can't adopt a dog.

This shelter will always have a special place in my heart. We adopted our dog Moon from there in 2020, and he has been the greatest gift in our lives. Most loving dog on earth. He came to Germany from the shelter, and liz was super communicative, answering all of our questions up until the day we picked him up at the airport. Thank you to everyone at this shelter for all of your hard work. We will absolutely adopt another dog from here ❤️ 💙

My wife and I visited the shelter since we own a stray dog from Crete. The people there are doing a wonderful job with very limited ressources. The shelter is in a good stage and we were glad they showed and explained us their work. We were positively surprised how good the dogs look. This is the result of to the great work and all the donations. Thank you!
