Pandora (adopted)

Pandora (adopted)

For as long as I can remember she’s been on the road.
Maybe five years? Everyone’s seen her because she is on the main Souda Road from Chania.

Pandora, August 2019

She frequented outside a place called Art Deco and traveled all the way up to the Anek offices.
She would chase cars, she would chase motorbikes, she would give birth at least two times a year.
Plenty of times I had tried to catch her to get her neutered but being that brilliantly clever black dog that she is, I failed.

So for plenty of years I built her makeshift nests to house her babies during the rough Winters.

Yesterday someone came to the shelter to tell us that the black dog on Souda Avenue has been terribly bit. Last I knew it was her and her son who live there. When Niko and I arrived we only found her.
We asked the neighbouring shops and they let us know that her son had disappeared months now.

When I approached her she walked straight into my arms.
It is time to get her off of the street. She herself wants it. Litsa has baptized her Pandora and I think it is very fitting.

All welcome the wise Pandora !
