Demo (adopted)
31.August 2019: Update
Demo is much better and enjoying the company of the other young dogs.
His history:
This boy was abandoned near the shelter; found on the 25.7.2019 . It has demodex, fleas and tics. 90% of it’s hair is missing.
Demodex:
Demodex in the dog is a common infestation of the dog’s skin with tiny, cigar-shaped, eight-legged mites. Also referred to as demodectic mange, the mites reside and feed in the hair follicle and oil glands of the skin.
Very painful scratch tests were done on Demo today to be looked at under a microscope.
Broke my heart to see him in pain.
We found ticks in every crevice of his body but fortunately enough his Erlichia test came back negative. No blood infection.
