Our estimation:
Estimated Adult Size
Trait | Estimate |
---|---|
Height | ~50–55 cm at shoulder |
Weight | 18–25 kg |
Build | Athletic but not heavy, balanced frame |
He is likely to fall in the medium-sized dog category, similar in stature to a Border Collie, English Setter mix, or light Retriever-type.
Likely Breed Mix
Rooftop appears to be a Border Collie mix — possibly with:
- Spaniel (due to the fluffy ears and soft coat)
- Setter or farm collie
- Or a general mix of local herding breeds
This kind of mix is very common on Crete, where sheepdogs, pointer-types, and farm dogs often interbreed.
Temperament Projection
Dogs like Rooftop are typically:
- 🧠 Very intelligent — will need stimulation, problem-solving, and activity
- 🐕 Trainable — often eager to please, especially with food or play rewards
- 👁️ People-focused — likely to bond closely with “his human”
- 🐾 Energetic — would do best with regular walks, games, or even agility tasks
Caution: Without enough mental stimulation, herding-type mixes can get bored and may show unwanted behaviors like nipping, chasing, or digging.
Ideal Future Home
- Active household (daily walks, some structured activity)
- People who want an involved, clever dog, not just a couch companion
- Garden optional but attention is essential
- Could be a great family dog or even agility/sport companion
